BVCP was formed over 50 years ago, to bring environmental improvement to the narrow band of open land alongside the River Blackwater, which had become severely degraded by urban activities and backyard industries.

Although the 'river corridor' remains its focus, the Partnership now works throughout a wider Blackwater catchment, expanding the local network of accessible greenspaces.
